Elder Benjamin Adams, Jr.

As a native of St. Petersburg, Florida and prevailing Senior Pastor of St. John Primitive Baptist Church since 1997, Elder Benjamin Adams, Jr. is dubbed A Real Sheppard, A Real Father and A Real Man Of God. Married for 15 years to Lady Lora Adams with 3 children; Shawntealia, Adrian and Jasmine. Elder Adams’ strong spiritual roots were formally erected and governed by his parents: the late Deacon Benjamin Adams, Sr. and Mother Johnnie Mae Adams. His spiritual adventures began at Mt. Zion P. B. Church. While there, he served as an Associate Minister, a Director of Christian Education/Board of Evangelism and as the Minister of Music.


Elder Adams attended the local Pinellas County Schools and later entered Saint Petersburg College. He flourished as co-organizer and supporter of the Saint Petersburg Chapter Gospel Workshop Choir and became Director of the Boca-Ciega High School Gospel Choir. Elder Adams also performed as the general secretary of Union #2 for the South Florida Primitive Baptist District Association, Inc., and Vice-President of the South Florida Primitive Baptist Church School Convention and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Evangelism for the National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA. Pastor Adams is currently enrolled in Anderson Theological Seminary. As officiating Pastor of St. John Primitive Baptist Church he set out on a quest, mandated by God, to meet the needs of his church family, spiritually, financially, and physically.


Under the leadership of Pastor Adams, numerous ministries in house and community based were birth to enhance and elevate the people of God. Elder Adams encourages his church family to partner with him as he envisions expansions of growth and prosperity only through Christ! He believes St. John is well on their way as long as the focus continues to be giving God our Tithes, Talents and our Treasures. In support of the churches building project, Capital Kingdom Campaign, it is acclaimed, “We don't just give money, we give money with a mission, money with a mark, money with an assignment and money with a purpose.” This is chorally chanted each Sunday morning by all which in turn ignites the hearts and minds of God’s people. Each Wednesday, St. John is challenged to think-breathe and live Word Chasers Bible Study. As Pastor Adams continues to travel spreading the WORD of God, it is his belief that he will not stop until “God is Satisfied.” Elder Adams definitely has an objective to exemplify the Word of God by expounding, hearing and doing.
